The video of lead single (seventh overall) from the re-release of her album, Teenage Dream : The Complete Confection was premiered on "MTV First : Katy Perry " wednesday night (march 21). Though the song was leaked in 2010 , but there are changes in the released version. Which prompted speculations about lyrics to be directed towards ex husband Russel Brand, but Katy denied.

                                        

                                              The song reached to number 1 on the iTunes charts the day of it's February 13, 2011 release in several countries, including the US and Canada. On February 22, 2012 Part of Me debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 becoming the 20th song to do so.
